Quite right, Ms. Pulcinella. There's no excuse for my getting the name of the project wrong. You are the first person to point that out to us.

It's Wandendale not Warrendale or Warrendate. It's hard to respect your opinions when you didn't even research the name of the project you are attacking. There have been many changes since 2008...look it up.

so wonderful that the organization I started in l963 is still fighting. I was thrilled to read this account, yet saddened you still have same old, same old to fight. In l963, it was DuPont that was trying to call all the shots. Thank you for your efforts, and hello to Jake Kreshtool and anyone else who might have met in my living room in l963 and after

No surprise that the true Titans of Toxins bunkered down in Fortress Wilmington, the big bosses of DuPont and their shadowy lobbyists, would be threatening and bullying community leaders. Their arrogant culture is one of concealment and retaliation. ...funfun..

The Nuke industry was brought down largely by (1) public opposition, and (2) high costs.

The nuke industry has been conniving for years with the "Nuclear Regulatory Commission" to deal with (1) by effectively taking the public out of the approval process. They wish to maintain the appearance of public parcticipation while eliminating the substance of it--the ability of the public to effectively "just say no!"

Item (2) is being addressed by getting the government to pay. In other words, pass the costs on to the taxpayers, This is why the various "climate" and "energy" bills are loaded up with subsidies and giveaways to the nuclear industry.

It's interesting that the same Republicans who pay so much lip service to lowering taxes, etc, seem to be big nuke subsidy promoters.

Our own Senator Tom Carper, technically not a Republican, is, of course, one of the biggest nuke promoters in the US Senate.

Talking about the 23 million that will remain uninsured is a bit sensationlist I think. Yes, that will be the case but what about the more than 30 million that will have health care where they didn't before. Most of those that will remain uninsured will be illegal immigrants.
It's important to remember that health care is a huge issue and it can only be tackled a little bit at a time. To ensure that millions more have health insurance than currently do is a good thing and should be applauded - no governmetn could solve the wider issue overnight for everyone.

I own a Scuba Diving operation and still enjoy diving in the local area lakes and streams that will not cause illness or harm to the people or wildlife who live in the area. Water resources are the life blood of all living things. If a few screw it up for the masses. Then you few should ask yourself if you would drink or play in the same water.

Suppression of free speech is a tactic which those who have something to hide use all the time. My own questions to prominent people of years past concerning the events of 911 were met with hostility and shut down as well. How do you know your close to the truth? When they tell you to sit down and shut up is how. Good luck in your efforts Delaware. Sincerely, matt presti
